Below is a letter compiled by one in our congregation, asking for memories and stories regarding the Bemidji Church of Christ. Please feel free to contribute by adding a comment below or sending it to the contact at the end of this letter.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Here in Bemidji we have been learning what an answer to prayer is. We have desired, talked, studied, prayed, waited, prayed, and prayed more for a new building to better serve and grow in numbers for the Lord. The old house has seen its days for growth and safety. We quickly found that desire and talk was not enough. Praying and waiting on the Lord to provide, in His time, has been fruitful.
In 2007 a piece of land was offered at a price that seemed to have been touched by God’s hand. After bringing it to the Lord, the elders accepted the offer. Many hurdles of man had to be overcome, and with hard work and patience they were. The land became the future site of our new building. One hurdle, financing, seemed too hard and hopes were tested. Our God does provide and a large donation appeared. This seemed, to all, that God had blessed this effort and the next hurdles appeared. The diligence of the elders and prayers of the saints have brought us to starting a new building to worship and grow this summer of 2008.
Your help is needed in writing a history book from the conception of the Bemidji Church to the present time. We would like to include past events, people, dates, pictures, memories, and stories of anyone with ties to the church. A book will be compiled and with your help and prayers, finished by the time we can move to the new building. This letter is sent to you because someone has felt you have been instrumental in keeping this church a strong foundation for all who serve the Lord here today. We would like to know and thank you for keeping the church true to the Lord and think your thoughts and memories would be a vaule as we now move forward.
We ask you to pray for us and for the strength to keep Satan away from our efforts to grow in the Lord. Please pass this on to anyone who you can think of, that may want to help in this history book. May this letter find you well and blessed by the Lord.

I remember having lots of different teachers over many years. I look back, and hope someday I can teach like them!
I remember pantomimes, Fruit Basket Upset, and Bible baseball on Wednesday nights.
I remember Ula team teaching with Denise on Sunday mornings- with Bible trivia, verses to look up and verses to memorize.
I remember learning Bible maps and geography….plus all the kings of the Old Testament and all the books of the Bible. I remember making crafts to take down to the local nursing home.
I remember looking forward to our annual VBS- lots of outdoor activities, dress up, cooking, puppet shows, and Bible skits.
I remember Bible memory verse challenges, posters on the wall, singing Bible verse songs, and I still remember Romans chapter 12.
I’m so thankful for the teaching and good example all these teachers have set over the years! Thanks for teaching me so much about God and the Bible!
